Aside from the trailer which was shown at last year’s E3 convention and the little bits of information and concept art samples which we saw at Pax Prime in September, we haven’t heard too much from Microsoft regarding Halo 4 in a while, which is surprising. Interestingly enough, the next expo where we can expect to see Halo 4 show up is at London’s Toy Fair.

Since this is a toy convention and not a software expo, we won’t be seeing trailers or footage at the Toy Fair. What we will be seeing are die-cast models of vehicles and characters from Halo 4 created by Re:creation, a toy company. We’ve already seen an image of a 14-inch Warthog manufactured by the company. This is just a preview. We’ll have to wait until the Toy Fair to see the rest of the characters and vehicles. The Toy Fair will run from January 24 to January 26 at Olympia in London.

Perhaps this will mark the beginning of a brand new advertising campaign for Halo 4. In any case, one thing is certain, which is that this is a unique marketing move on Microsoft’s part, and it will certainly result in some great collectible merchandise relating to the game. It’ll be interesting to find out how soon we can start getting our hands on some Halo 4 toys of our own. Will they precede the release of the game or accompany it? Will a special edition of the game be released which includes collectible figurines? When the Toy Fair runs next week and the figurines are unveiled, we’ll be sure to let you know what we can expect from the next Halo game based on what we see there. It should be an exciting and different way of looking at Halo 4!
